Common sense doesn't quite prevail in the majority of
demorcacy...
Emotion's prevail...
I am reminded of a research paper that I read recently for my
research.
Common understanding today is a western-centric view that
rationality and emotions are separate.
But recent study on a patient who suffered a tumour that
destroyed his ability to feel apparently found that he also now
suffers from confounded decision-making.
So a new theory emerged that you cant be rational without
emotions.
The fundamental basis behind is that you use emotions to rank
choices. Eg. I prefer laksa over wonton mee is based on cognitive
mapping via emotions.
So without emotions => inability to rank => irrational
choices.
